I say let greece start the printing press and give the union workers all the money they got coming. Oh but you won't be able to buy bread or anything else due to inflation. But then again that's their problem. Maybe they'll think twice about the unions and their "Loaf Early" retirement plans and benefits

In 2000 I was in Singapore and my company had business in Guangzhou-China. Since I was in the neighborhood, I was given directions for getting there if it was required that I make a visit. I was to fly from Singapore to Hong Kong. Go to xxx and see xyz to purchase a Passport in Hong Kong. Then I was to avoid air and travel only by rail to Guangzhou-China. I did not have to go because my company did not bribe a Chinese Military officer ( it was against our policy ) LOL but not against theirs. We were supplying alarm equipment to the Chinese Military for their buildings. Well, not anymore.

Other travel precautions -- Middle East -- If your passport has been stamped in Israel you may as well burn it if you plan to enter any neighboring country.

How do you go to Cuba to smoke a cigar? Fly Air-Canada

so for all the folks that defend socialism and unions , why the hell does a socialist country run by the unions (Greece) need to be bailed out by a free market country? I'll tell you why. Because that shit doesn't work and Obama the idiot still thinks it's a good idea. Lets see the irony here. The president wants to take America down the european socialist path while writing a check to help bailout that failing system. This guy should be brought up on treason charges!

Public employee unions must go. Our 80,000 page tax code disaster must go. Labor relations laws must be reformed. We must refuse to provide for the world's financial and military security. Control of our healthcare must be taken away from our employers and the government. Right to work should be federally mandated under the commerce clause. Nuclear power should be "the" national energy imperative. All land based and shallow water oil should be open to exploration, immediately.

The "TREASON" trials could start tomorrow but only if the corruption trials start at the same time. Everyone tied to the book cooking mortgage frauds at FANNIE & FREDDIE should already be in jail.

Anne Wortham is Associate Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University and continuing Visiting Scholar at Stanford University 's Hoover Institution.

No spin zone/Politics - Page 2 A.Wortham

She is a member of the American Sociological Association and the American Philosophical Association.

She has been a John M. Olin Foundation Faculty Fellow, and honored as a Distinguished Alumni of the Year by the Nation al Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education.

In fall 1988 she was one of a select group of intellectuals who were featured in Bill Moyer's television series, "A World of Ideas." The transcript of her conversation with Moyers has been published in his book, A World of Ideas.

Dr. Wortham is author of "The Other Side of Racism: A Philosophical Study of Black Race Consciousness" which analyzes how race consciousness is transformed into political strategies and policy issues.

She has published numerous articles on the implications of individual rights for civil rights policy, and is currently writing a book on theories of social and cultural marginality.

Recently, she has published articles on the significance of multiculturalism and Afrocentricism in education, the politics of victimization and the social and political impact of political correctness. Shortly after an interview in 2004, she was awarded tenure.

This article by her is really something.
Fellow Americans,

Please know: I am Black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul's name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a Black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a Black president to love the ideal of America .

I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival - all that I know about the history of the United States of America , all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the "change" that Obama asserts has come to America .

Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million Blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that Blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared "progressive" whites who voted for him because he doesn't look like them.

I would have to wipe my mind clean of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration - political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University 's Kennedy School of Government.

I would have to believe that "fairness" is equivalent of justice. I would have to believe that a man who asks me to "go forward in a new spirit of service, in a new service of sacrifice" is speaking in my interest.. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the "bottom up," and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth.

Finally, Americans, I would have to erase from my consciousness the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago irrationally chanting "Yes We Can!" Finally, I would have to wipe all memory of all the times I have heard politicians, pundits, journalists, editorialists, bloggers and intellectuals declare that capitalism is dead - and no one, including especially Alan Greenspan, objected to their assumption that the particular version of the anti-capitalistic mentality that they want to replace with their own version of anti-capitalism is anything remotely equivalent to capitalism.

So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a Black man to the office of the president of the United States , the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over - and that Fonda won.. Eugene McCarthy and George McGovern must be very happy men. Jimmie Carter, too. And the Kennedys have at last gotten their Kennedy look-a-like. The self-righteous welfare statists in the suburbs can feel warm moments of satisfaction for having elected a Black person.

So, toast yourselves: 60s countercultural radicals, 80s yuppies and 90s bourgeois bohemians. Toast yourselves, BlackAmerica. Shout your glee Harvard, Princeton , Yale, Duke, Stanford, and Berkeley. You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be president, but a Black man who, like the pragmatist Franklin Roosevelt, promises to - Do Something! You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine - what little there is left - for the chance to feel good.

There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness. God Help Us all...

this just in...

You might recall that John Hinckley was a seriously deranged young man who shot President Reagan in the early 1980's.

Hinckley was absolutely obsessed with movie star Jodie Foster, extremely jealous, and in his twisted mind, loved Jodie Foster to the
point that to make himself well known to her, he attempted to assassinate President Reagan.

There is speculation Hinckley may soon be released as having been rehabilitated.
Consequently, you may appreciate the following letter from Nancy Reagan *

To: John Hinckley
From: Mrs. Nancy Reagan

My family and I wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how pleased we are with the great strides you are making in your recovery.
In our fine country's spirit of understanding and forgiveness, we want you to know there is a nonpartisan consensus of compassion
and forgiveness throughout.

The Reagan family and I want you to know that no grudge is borne against you for shooting President Reagan. We, above all, are aware
of how the mental stress and pain could have driven you to such an act of desperation. We are confident that you will soon make a complete
recovery and return to your family to join the world again as a healthy and productive young man.

Best wishes,
Nancy Reagan & Family

P.S. While you have been incarcerated, Barack Obama has been banging Jodie Foster like a screen door in a tornado. You might want to look into that.

Anne Wortham, Thomas Sowell and others at the Hoover have done some of the best studies and writings on the liberal devastation of the Black Community.

Prior to LBJ's Great Society, the black community was superior to the white community in core family structure. A higher percentage of black children were in core 2 parent families than were whites. Black High Schools and Colleges were among the finest in the country. Blacks were advancing at an astounding rate in income and education.

In 30 years, the liberals turned famous black institutions into second class schools, 70% of black children will never experience a core 2 parent family, black women are infinitely more likely to experience teen pregnancy or abortion and black men always have 2 or 3 times the unemployment rate of any other race. Violent death, STD's, drug addiction, homelessness, incarceration all enhanced by the "kindness" of the liberal policies.

Then the Narrative, "Republicans are racists". If you oppose the destructive liberal policies you're a racist, too.

Is it just me? What has changed?

Fannie & Freddie are still purchasing crappy loans and losing taxpayer money hand over fist. Taxpayers have unlimited liability.

AIG is still dealing Credit Default Swaps. We own them so our liability is unlimited.

The interest rates are still too low for too long. An artificially sustained housing bubble makes recovery impossible.

The Treasury is still printing money and to make it worse, they are buying EURO's. The taxpayer liability is unlimited because that's our money and it is being invested in a burning house.

GM is still losing money. Taxpayer liability is unlimited, i.e. AMTRAK and the Postal System.

Unemployment is still 10% but underemployment has gone over 17%. 200,000 jobs a month will only take us a few decades to get back to 6% unemployment.

RECOVERY???? Are you kiddin' me. If the government wasn't pouring billions into the economy, we would go right off the cliff because no policy has been applied that will help.

No stimulus, no healthcare reform, no energy policy.....NO, NADDA, NOTHIN'. Stimulus was welfare, JOBS KILLER. Health Insurance Regulation (Obamacare), JOBS KILLER. Cap & Trade coming, JOBS KILLER.

The CBO added another $100 billion for the IRS expense to manage OBAMACARE. More states are opting out of the "pre-existing condition" high risk exchanges. Major companies are considering an end to employer provided health insurance.

Obamacare is working out exactly as we expected.

Those luck parents that want to keep their deadbeat kids on their insurance are finding out, IT AIN'T CHEAP. Most people that had insurance before are looking at increased premiums.

Where's that goddam $2,500 I was going to save?

well since Im all alone here today I guess I'll do all the ranting.

The Government has put Americans in a very difficult spot. It's managed to divide this country into two classes. The working class and the entitlement class. This I believe will be a worst case future for America. This problem is much worse than any racial division ever has been. Here's why. To fix or bring America back to glory we have to go back to our roots, thats hard work and perseverence. To do this means cutting entitlements and making folks work or starve. This will create an extreme amount of resentment from the entitlement crowd which in turn will turn violent to keep what they haven't earned. On the other hand if we go the Obama route and more entittlements then the Working class will suffer and our freedoms will be lost forever. This will bring about a new fight for freedom. It's amazing to me that adults will give up a free life and liberty for a handout. What does that say about that persons character or lack of. We are rapidly becoming a nation of beggers. The taxable income will dry up at some point and there will be no money for handouts, what then? Here's my prediction. People will just simply not pay for things, mortgages or rent or car s. They will loot stores and raid groceries. This to has an ending point, what then?
